Smokey The Bear

For the past three years during our beach vacation the kids are thrilled with anticipation awaiting the arrival of "Smokey the Bear". I don't think Les realized it would be an annual commitment after the first time. :) I can't tell you that much about Smokey because no adults are allowed during his visit. I suspect this is partly due to rude humor, age appropriate of course. I can tell you that his attire comes from what ever he finds at the rental house. I was especially fond of the grill cover cape this year. Also, he has been known to bring various friends with him from the broom closet and name them Sassafrass. Oh Smokey, thank you for this!

The Many Faces of August

I have a lot of pictures to go through before I can post about our trip to the beach but I hope to get to it soon. August loved playing on the beach but for about two days she preferred to sit in this beach chair in the shade. She also asked my mom to take her picture again and again. Dancing

The last few days have been full of fun. Les's mom (aka Mimi) came for a visit and to see Skyla's dance recital. She took Skyla and August shopping for goodies for their baby dolls and a ride on the carousel. Last night was the dance recital for Skyla and Eryn. They have enjoyed a ballet/jazz class together this year. Skyla loved every minute of the event and I think she was just as excited about her lipstick as she was about the performance. I smiled through the entire show and was so proud of every dancer on stage. From the cute litttle 3yr olds to the beautiful young women. Even little brother seemed to enjoy the show. (with the help of a few snacks in my purse of course)

A New Dress

I just finished this dress. I became quite obsessed with trying to figure it out during the process and slipping away to different corners of the house to work on it. I am so happy with how it turned out. I LOVE the straps crossing in the back. The girls are arguing over who gets to wear it today. Good thing I already cast on for another one!
