A Weekend Away

We visited Lester's dad last weekend and enjoyed a much slower pace. We all love the alpacas. Skyla was thrilled to give one of the babies a bottle. The kids also rode the tractor and enjoyed swimming in Aunt Janice's new pool. Jude instantly connected with his "Papa" and followed him around all weekend. Thank you for a wonderful weekend!

The First Day

We decided to send the girls to classes for home school students on Mondays and Thursdays. Monday is a half day of learning history through music, art and drama. Thursdays are a full day of academics taught from a classical learning approach. Skyla is in second grade this year and August is in Kindergarten. Skyla enjoyed the same program last year but this is one of many firsts for August.

My thoughts were full of August yesterday as I was hoping she was having a great time and tear free. After school I found out that she did get upset as they began her Spanish class. However, they brought her to Skyla. Skyla explained to me that she gave her a hug, held her hand, walked her back to class and stayed with her until she calmed down. She was fine the rest of the day. I am grateful for the power of sibling love.

Jude Porter Turns Two

Our sweet little boy is officially two! We celebrated with home made ice cream and soy yogurt for the babes. I think Jude enjoyed the attention and the gifts. Among the pictures you will see his super cool new patchy shorts that Aunt Sarah made. The girl's got talent.

It is no secret that this little boy fills my heart with so much love. He has been through a lot in a short amount of time and never stopped smiling through any of it.

Here are a few things I want to remember:
He calls August, "Au-bee"
He loves: motorcycles, birds, bugs, balls, making the girls giggle, wrestling
He has a charming way of asking me to nurse him when he thinks I'm going to say no
He runs "laps" around the house and sometimes around the table with the funniest expression on his face
He mimics the girls jazz dancing
He likes routines
He likes to be read to
Happy Birthday Beautiful Boy!
I can't wait to see what this year will bring.
