This girl is really starting to sparkle. I love the random conversations
Skyla keeps starting with me. The topics are too private for blogging but definitely let me know my little girl is growing up. Lately she does funny things and if you ask why she simply says, "Because I'm
weird." (Yes my dear you are,
way to own it) Of course, her parents are a little
weird themselves.
Skyla has always been the type to speak less and observe more. She is acutely aware of what someone she has seen only for a moment was wearing, what type of earrings, hand bag, and shoes they had on. This isn't observed in a superficial or judgemental way but with true interest.
She loves ballet so much that she doesn't even notice she is sleeping in her ballet shoes sometimes. She plays with her dolls all the time. With Jude of course, still being her favorite. Sometimes I walk in her room and she has him lying on the floor with a blanket while a
lullaby is playing on the
cd player. "It's his nap time," she says. I just leave the room smiling.
She is so patient with Jude. Sometimes I feel inspired watching the way she talks to him. No one can make her giggle with quite the same intensity as August can. This I love.
We spent the day before her birthday getting a few things we needed for her party this weekend. She said , "Aren't you glad you get to spend the last day I'm seven with me? " I can't believe how long it has been since she was three days old and I cried because I was overwhelmed with love.
