MLK Day

Jude didn't quite get the idea.

I wanted to do more with the kids this year to celebrate the birthday of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. We watched his "I have a dream" speech and read a book about what things were like during the time he grew up. We went to the parade at the square and the girls held up a coloring page they made wishing Dr. King a happy birthday. We also made 'dream clouds' an idea I saw on a blog I am often inspired by. We had quite a long and meaningful conversation as they were going to bed. It is so wonderful the way children have a natural tendency to love without judgement. I pray they hold on to this as they grow up.

Christmas Morning

We thought is was so funny that when the kids came in to see the presents under the tree, August went straight to the window. She didn't even glance at the tree or presents. She was too excited to see if the Reindeer had eaten the food she sprinkled on the front lawn.
