Mae Dolls And Letters
Awhile ago I made the girl's these dolls. I am so happy that they love them as much as I do. The little skirt is removable and I have also made a fancy sequin one and a butterfly one after Skyla asked/harassed me to. For Christmas I made each of them a flannel nightgown for their doll. I also made Skyla's a peasant shirt, corduroy pants and a dress. I bought the patterns for the doll and clothes on this website. I love her stuff!
August has been really interested in letters lately. Thankfully so, considering she will say things like, "is this the letter four?" She helped me make the first few letters and chose several of the fabrics. I realized that the whole alphabet was going to take me awhile.I decided the rest of the letters would make a good Christmas gift. I think she will love them.

Ballet/Jazz
Last Thursday was observation week for Skyla and Eryn's dance class. It was so fun to be inside the room and see all the sweet little dancers. I loved watching them all line up along the bar. I imagine it would be intimidating to have a room full of adults staring at you during class. Most of my pictures turned out blurry because Jude was in my lap. We also got to see a few jazz moves. I loved every minute of it.

Lester's Weekend With The Girls
Les and the girls had a wonderful time while Jude and I were away. They were so excited to tell me all about what they were up to on the phone and gave me all the details when I got home. Highlights include:
Shopping the dollar section at Target (really cool when you are six and four)
Shopping the dollar section at Target (really cool when you are six and four)
Eating at Jason's Deli (really cool because they have free ice cream)
Building a fire and working in the yard
Having smores in the middle of the day
Mixing cement to help build their tree house
Learning to ride a bike with out training wheels
Finally getting to ride your sister's bike because she is starting to ride her new one
Sleeping in the same bed with daddy
Going out for pizza and watching a football game with cousins
Using a leaf blower that is bigger than you are and the jumping in a pile of leaves
Thank you Lester for being everything you are to these girls!

Girls' (and baby boys') weekend
Here are a few pictures from my weekend away with Jude, Sarah, Finn and my Mom. We hid in the mountains for the weekend. In a cabin. (in case you thought we were just in the woods) It was a great way to enjoy some much needed down time. Thank you Sarah for suggesting this get away and thank you generous mom for funding it! I had a great time. What are you guys doing next weekend? More pictures here.

Playing
Here are a couple pictures of the kids playing "school". They continue to entertain me with the games they play. I wish I had pictures of them playing "dance class". It was hilarious but at 8:00 in the morning no pictures were taken. It was hard enough for me to deal with Lenny Kravitz blaring in my room. The girls have also started taking their plates under the kitchen table and having their meals there. I'm not sure what that is about but they think it is fun.
I'll try to get pictures of "gymnastics class". It involves lining up every stuffed student they can find to participate in the gym/family room.Sunday, November 15, 2009
Gone With The Wind
Celebrating the anniversary of "Gone With the Wind, " several dancers were filmed in costume reenacting a scene from the movie. We enjoyed a beautiful afternoon outside with friends and watched some of the dancing. The girls loved all the fancy dresses. The boys... LOVED the rental trucks and all the motorized equipment used for filming.

Diorama
Skyla's class has been reading, "The Big Red Barn" by Margaret Wise Brown. Thursday she will present to her class the diorama we have made at home. I don't always approach these assignments with enthusiasm. However, I am always so glad we did it after we have finished. It provides us with on -going projects we work on together and I love to see the ideas she comes up with.
