Here are a few pictures from my weekend away with Jude, Sarah, Finn and my Mom. We hid in the mountains for the weekend. In a cabin. (in case you thought we were just in the woods) It was a great way to enjoy some much needed down time. Thank you Sarah for suggesting this get away and thank you generous mom for funding it! I had a great time. What are you guys doing next weekend? More pictures here.

Playing
Here are a couple pictures of the kids playing "school". They continue to entertain me with the games they play. I wish I had pictures of them playing "dance class". It was hilarious but at 8:00 in the morning no pictures were taken. It was hard enough for me to deal with Lenny Kravitz blaring in my room. The girls have also started taking their plates under the kitchen table and having their meals there. I'm not sure what that is about but they think it is fun.
I'll try to get pictures of "gymnastics class". It involves lining up every stuffed student they can find to participate in the gym/family room.Sunday, November 15, 2009
Gone With The Wind
Celebrating the anniversary of "Gone With the Wind, " several dancers were filmed in costume reenacting a scene from the movie. We enjoyed a beautiful afternoon outside with friends and watched some of the dancing. The girls loved all the fancy dresses. The boys... LOVED the rental trucks and all the motorized equipment used for filming.

Diorama
Skyla's class has been reading, "The Big Red Barn" by Margaret Wise Brown. Thursday she will present to her class the diorama we have made at home. I don't always approach these assignments with enthusiasm. However, I am always so glad we did it after we have finished. It provides us with on -going projects we work on together and I love to see the ideas she comes up with.

Neighborhood Art Show
I wasn't able to take many pictures but here are a few from Saturday's neighborhood art show. Sarah and I set up a table and so did the kids. The kids almost sold out! They had so many kind customers who treated them with such respect. They loved it! Lester joined the show this time with his awesome chalkboards made from recycled vintage windows. I think they are wonderful and would love to hang more in our house. You can't have too many chalkboards in your house right?
Les and I were exhausted by the end of the day but are so thankful for the experience these art shows are giving our children. We love the fact that they are involved in an event that shows our community and neighbors working together to achieve a common goal. We love that they are surrounded by so many wonderful people who do so much to support one another.
