Georgia O'Keeffe Flowers

Painting is on our to do list for this summer. Today we tried a painting project found on this blog. We looked at some of Georgia O'Keeffe's paintings on-line and read a little about her from a Children's art book. Then we drew flowers with a pencil and tried to have our petals go off of the page. We drew over the pencil with a sharpie and painted using water colors.
The results:

Skyla's Sunflower

August's Geranium

Relaxation

A while ago I read about making a foot soak for your kids in "Mothering" magazine. It is meant to be a fun way to find a little calmness in a busy day. The day before we left for vacation I tried it for the girls. I used rose petals from our front yard, lavender oil and warm water. They thought it was quite fancy.

Catching Up

This week we are getting ready for vacation. I can't wait to hang out on the beach and watch my babies play in the sand. In case I still have any readers out there ; ) Here are a few recent pictures.

"Who says I can't hang at a tea party too?"

Our first mother/daughter book club meeting with the sweetest little girls!

Some knitted goodness that I have officially become addicted to.

Another difficult good-bye to a family that has moved. Missing all of these friends dearly.

A memorable night at the Fox Theater with Mary Poppins.
