August 3rd, 1969

My parents are celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary this year. I remember staring at this picture when I was young and loving to study every detail of it. Happy Anniversary, 40 years of commitment, support, friendship and love. That is something to be proud of!

Happy Birthday GG and Jude

Saturday was my grandmother's 90th birthday and Sunday was Jude's 1st! We had a great weekend celebrating. Skyla has always been shy around GG but this visit they have become quite close. GG, I think it is your pink lipstick and your jewelry that really drew her in this time. :) I am so grateful for the time we have had the past few days. My grandmother is truly an amazing woman.
As for our little man... well I do love to ramble on about how much I love him. I will just say this, he makes my heart happy.

Here is a little bit about Jude at age one:
He has awesome hair that sticks up all crazy with a big cowlick in the front.
He starts "dancing" when ever he hears music
He loves dogs even though he breaks out in hives if they lick his feet
He is constantly being touched, kissed, hugged/strangled by his sisters
He has really big teeth
I love it when he points at things and seems excited about what he sees
I pray he outgrows his food allergies and sensitive skin
He picks up my cell phone and says hi
I think his favorite food is cantaloupe
He loves to go for walks reclined all the way back in his stroller
He generally just seems happy to be here

We're Back

We went to visit Les's family in Alabama for about a week. I regret not taking more pictures on this trip but I kept forgetting my camera. The girls would have been happy to stay home the entire week and play with "Mimi's" high heels and purses. The guys enjoyed a fishing trip while we went to Fairhope. The girls also loved making cookies with Aunt Brooke. By the way... August was holding an egg and Brooke told her to go ahead and put it in. So, she just tossed the whole egg in the bowl.

The girls were also excited to play with Dyana, their cousin who just turned 10. They played in a water fountain and put on a puppet show for us.
I was also happy to see a friend of mine that moved a year ago to open a store in Fairhope. I miss you Devan and your store is awesome!
Thank you all for a great time!

Precious

This sweet little guy has us wrapped around his tiny finger. Speaking of those fingers... he has started communicating with us through sign language. We have seen him use the signs for: nursing, more, eat, plane, bird, dog and train. There is something so heart warming and sweet about watching this little person talk to you with his hands long before he will find the words.

Birthday Update

Grammy and August spent the day together. It took her a long time to decide but she picked out an American Girl and has named her Haley. (Also, the name of EVERY doll in our house) Thank you Grammy for a special day. Going for a ride on the Merry-Go-Round
