Skyla has eagerly been awaiting two events for her birthday. The first was a trip to the American Girl store with Grammy. They had quite a day as she picked out a baby and went to lunch. It was so much fun that she boxed everything back up the next day, put it on the book shelves and re-in acted the event with August playing the role of Grammy. They even put on their coats and got in their "car" and drove to the store to pick out the doll. She kept saying, "I just fell in love with her," when she described how she decided on which doll to choose.
She has also been very busy planning her party. She wanted to have a dress up tea party. She worked hard on making different things for the party and was so excited when the day finally came. The party was what I hoped it would be for her: simple, beautiful and fun.
The girls also enjoyed staying up late and spending some time with "Papa".
